The Navy plans to phase out McGrew Military housing in 10-20 years. It took $6 million to fix the Mighty Mo Gary presented a slide show of the different areas
of the Pearl Harbor Bike Path o7 Project has been named Pearl Harbor Historic
Trail o7 Possible
funding could come from the federal government o7
*VP Gore prevent urban sprawl initiative o7
*President Clinton open space initiative o7 Need to create attractions o7 Key is OR&L Railroad o7 Currently train runs to Ko Olina to Ewa Village
w/ a grant to extend to Waipahu o7 Need access to open up shoreline to visitors and
public o7 Need to capture visitors from PH memorials and Ko
Olina o7 Resident visitors captured at traffic center at
Aloha Stadium o7 Modes of transport may include:
Bike, train, bus, trolley, jitney o7 Need to research shoreline history o7 Need to talk to major landowners o7 Need to create/ find funding for Planning study Other components relating to the PH shoreline that
was discussed o7 Gaining support to obtaining McGrew Point and
turning it into a cultural community center o7 Pa'ai'au Fishpond -deemed preservation?
