III. Board Minutes Approval: Board minutes for January 2008 meeting approved with one correction. · Council Chair of Seattle, Richard Conlon’s named misspelled. Should be Richard Conlin
IV. Treasurer’s Report: · Deposits: · Donation from Castle & Cooke via Rodney Funakoshi, employee of Castle & Cooke. Each employee can designate a donation to be made each year. · One new membership due paid · Checks: · Paid P.O. Box annual fee
V. Old BusinessA. Aiea Intergenerational Center – All bills paid. Still waiting for final bank statement. · Electric, cable, phone bills paid · Lock on; For Rent sign up · Net money to be moved ACA account after bill payments made. B. Pearl Harbor Historic Trail – Rep. Lynn Finnegan’s office. Steven Antonio contact person. Meeting February 26, 2008 at 10am. · Claire to attend and make suggestion to hold meeting in Aiea C. Aiea Neighborhood Board – met but no quorum · Had presentation of Halawa Valley restoration. Hawaiian Cement asking for height variance · Postponed discussion of gateway area · Rep. Mark Takai talked about Kamehameha Hwy. improvements D. Empower Oahu · Community Network meeting at FilCom Center on February 15, 2008, Barbara Burns · Had discussion about gang action and incoming drugs at Puu Wai Momi growing E. Website up and running – Richard Ito · Update ACA meetings site to library · Put in pictures of Aiea Gateway clean up
F. Aiea Library Site · Appropriation put in for $1,000,000 by Rep. Blake Oshiro for funding of new library (planning, design, etc.) · Board of Education voted Yes. Budget will not be set till end of April. Legislators contact information to be available on ACA website for support of bill G. Aiea Gateway Service Project · Aiea Band members, ACA, PACT involved · Trash not collected yet · Claire spoke with Dept of Transportation to get water line restored · Claire will mention at Aiea Neighborhood Board meeting that ACA is interested in maintaining · Claire made motion to pay for nominal fee (up to $100) for plants for Gateway area (motion approved by attendees) H. Castle and Cooke meeting – Aiea Town Center · Claire attended meeting with Rodney Funakoshi. State budget offices to find out what limitations there are to property (state funded). Castle and Cooke interested in helping develop
VI. New BusinessA. Goals for 2008: Projects · Suggestions included community interest presentations, Xmas parade, Aiea Gateway, Discover the Trail, Healthwalk B. Calendar of Events 2008 · Christmas parade date of December 13th (second Saturday) OK with members C. Erosion of hillside behind old Holsum – will refer to land owner D. Business registration – need 11 directors, only 7 so far
