AIEA COMMUNITY ASSICIATION March 1,1999 Present were: Denise, Claire, Bonnie, June, David,
and Kimberly The discussion was a review of Claire and Bonnie's
presentation to the City Council during the third reading for the unilateral
agreement concerning the road through the sugar mill property.
ACA supports a design covenant on building setback and height.
This meeting was a victory and learning experience for ACA. Congratulations to Bonnie and Claire who will teach us all how to present to government boards. Actions to be taken concerning the Sugar Mill
property include: o7 Checking w/ Donna Mercado-Kim's aid concerning
the minimum setback expressed by Crazy Shirt Rep. Criz. o7 Meet
with Joe Criz and Jan Sullivan o7 Discuss with Jane Sugimura (Aiea NB Zoning
Committee) intersection, setback, and agreements relating to the road o7 Check to see if Aiea NB will support us
concerning road and with Jan Sullivan to get someone to explain setback o7 Canvass neighborhood on sugar mill sight to
sample community knowledge of the industrial subdivision being developed on the
site Other discussion was on the submittal of the
visioning package to the Aiea Neighborhood Board. ACA should meet with J. Sugimura and Wm. Clark to determine if Aiea NB has their own list of Visions. We need to determine when we should set our
visioning meeting with Pearl City Association and fold in PC with the Aiea
Empowerment Zone Application. To improve our association, we need to: o7 Strengthen our relationship and gain a response
from government officials "If we don't hear from you we'll assume it's
okay" o7 Publicize our endeavors o7 Research on community organization o7 Start recruitment-is everyone a member? o7 Stay focused on upcoming events |
