Cal Kawamoto ABC GRANT DISCUSSION Letter of interest submitted by Claire & Kim
with the assistance of Tomo Aiko. Decision
will be made at the end of July. Questions were brought up concerning the outcome of the grant, a Youth Center
similar to Pearl City's, in regards to facility operations, volunteers &
liability issues. Claire explained that the grant was a learning process for
communities to organize and the ultimate outcome would be the Youth Center. NEIGHBORHOOD BOARD MEETING 06.14.99 Bonnie & Robin to attend and present the draft
EA for Library at former Mill site and ABC Grant interest.
ACA supports library at site but NOT at present location.
Comments for draft EA due 06.22.99. FORMER SUGAR MILL PROPERTY Mark Takai to set up meeting with Governor &
Norman Mitzuguchi. ACA supports an amendment to the C&C Public
Facilities Map to place a P symbol for Park designation similar to Kamehameha Drive Inn
site. Application for that designation is needed.
Meeting with Mufi will be scheduled so that he may introduce the designation to council.
ACA to let Aiea NB know of our intentions. We
need to gain more support from Pearl City. AIEA MEDICAL BUILDING Monstrosity fronting building on Aiea Heights Drive
is an air conditioning unit that is in violation of zoning code.
Application for variance issued in error. ACA MEMBERRSHIP We need to reach a bigger segment of our
neighborhoods. Bonnie will create a draft newsletter citing accomplishments of ACA and
request for nomination of officers. Newsletter
will also invite all to General Membership Meeting for September.
More discussion to reach community to take place. MISC. The Aiea/Pearl City Business Association request
more information on the Pearl Harbor Historic Trail. ACA meeting ended at 7:35pm |
