ABC GRANT DISCUSSION

Letter of interest submitted by Claire & Kim with the assistance of Tomo

Aiko.  Decision will be made at the end of July.  Questions were brought up

concerning the outcome of the grant, a Youth Center similar to Pearl City's,

in regards to facility operations, volunteers & liability issues.  Claire

explained that the grant was a learning process for communities to organize

and the ultimate outcome would be the Youth Center.

NEIGHBORHOOD BOARD MEETING 06.14.99

Bonnie & Robin to attend and present the draft EA for Library at former Mill

site and ABC Grant interest.  ACA supports library at site but NOT at

present location.  Comments for draft EA due 06.22.99.

FORMER SUGAR MILL PROPERTY

Mark Takai to set up meeting with Governor & Norman Mitzuguchi.  ACA

supports an amendment to the C&C Public Facilities Map to place a P symbol

for Park designation similar to Kamehameha Drive Inn site.  Application for

that designation is needed.  Meeting with Mufi will be scheduled so that he

may introduce the designation to council.  ACA to let Aiea NB know of our

intentions.  We need to gain more support from Pearl City.

AIEA MEDICAL BUILDING

Monstrosity fronting building on Aiea Heights Drive is an air conditioning

unit that is in violation of zoning code.  Application for variance issued

in error.

ACA MEMBERRSHIP

We need to reach a bigger segment of our neighborhoods.  Bonnie will create

a draft newsletter citing accomplishments of ACA and request for nomination

of officers.  Newsletter will also invite all to General Membership Meeting

for September.  More discussion to reach community to take place.

MISC.
